Initial situation
At Siemens Mobility, people are at the center of everything. For many years, health promotion has been an integral part of the company culture. Employees benefit from a wide range of offerings – from sports programs and relaxation sessions to online resources focused on stress management.
In addition to a healthy working environment, the company’s goal is to support both the physical and mental well-being of its employees – a key factor not only for attracting talent, but also for retaining it in the long term.
The challenge
A holistic health program must be diverse, reliable, and flexible. When introducing the EAP (Employee Assistance Program), Siemens Mobility faced several key challenges:
- Building trust: Many employees had questions about the confidentiality of counseling services.
- Ensuring low-threshold access: Mental health remains a sensitive topic – clear internal communication was essential.
- Addressing different target groups: The rollout required tailored approaches for various groups within the organization.

A woman in a white blouse is smiling and talking to a man seated across from her in a modern office. On the right, large text reads: “Low-threshold. Trustworthy. Individual.”
The solution
- Confidential one-on-one counseling sessions focused on mental health
- On-site physical activity and relaxation programs
- Coachings, seminars, and trainings specifically for managers
- Flexible access – available both digitally and in person
- Inclusion of family members to acknowledge the broader context of psychological strain
The rollout was supported by an internal communication campaign aimed at reducing stigma and clearly explaining when and how Mavie can provide support – for instance, in cases of sleep issues or personal crises.
The Role of Leadership
At Siemens Mobility, managers play a key role in supporting mental well-being:
- Leading by example: Taking breaks, openly discussing their own stress or challenges
- Early recognition: Being sensitive to emerging issues within the team
- Connecting with experts: Referring employees to Mavie professionals when needed
At the same time, it is clear that leadership has its limits – and personal responsibility always applies: everyone is ultimately responsible for looking after their own health and for seeking support before it’s too late.
Feedback
Health is not only about your own body or mind – it’s also about what affects your family members.
